What if the magic you’re looking for isn’t something you need to learn, but something you already carry?
Many of us carry stories, traditions, superstitions, folk magic, and ways of knowing that have traveled through our families for generations. Some are still alive and practiced. Others have been forgotten or lost along the way.
This autumn, as the days grow shorter and the veil between worlds begins to thin, You are invited to turn toward your ancestors and explore your own lineage. Through divination, ancestral connection, shrine building, offerings, and ritual, we’ll look for the stories, gifts, and magic that may be waiting to be remembered.
Maybe you've heard stories of visions, dreams that came true, plants that healed, or a grandmother who talked to her garden. Maybe you've had experiences of your own that you can't quite explain.
And maybe it's left you wondering about the magic in your lineage and wanting to know your Ancestors in a deeper way.
Those are threads. And this autumn, you’re invited to follow them.
Work Closely with Eleni
With only six participants, this journey offers the opportunity to work closely with Eleni in a small and supportive setting. As a Stick Diviner and Earth-Based Minister, Eleni’s life and practice are deeply rooted in relationship with ancestors, nature spirits, trees, divination, and ritual.
One of her greatest joys is helping people remember the magic already present in their lives- watching the moment something clicks, a forgotten thread is recognized, or someone begins to see their own gifts and lineage in a new way.
Throughout the journey, there will be space for questions, sharing, and personal inquiry, with Eleni working with her cowrie shells to seek guidance as questions arise.
She isn’t here to teach you her magic, but to help you listen for, uncover, and deepen your relationship with your own.

Before the journey starts each participant will receive one private Stick Divination session with Eleni. Sessions are scheduled individually after registration, and participants will choose a time that works for them. Divinations can be done on Zoom or in Person in Occidental , Ca.

Ancestral Activation Ritual

If you are unable to attend the ritual in person- the ritual will be adapted so you can do it on your own.
DISCOVER ~ Finding Your Golden Thread
Begin exploring the stories, traditions, beliefs, superstitions, gifts, and ways of knowing woven through your lineage. We'll look for the threads that keep catching your attention and begin uncovering what may be asking to be remembered.
Connect ~ Building Ancestral Relationship
Move beyond knowing about your ancestors and begin building a relationship with them. We’ll explore ancestral shrines, invocation, listening, and ways of creating a sacred space. You’ll also learn to work with a pendulum as a divination tool for asking questions, listening for guidance, and deepening your ancestral connection.
TEND ~ Offerings, Reciprocity & Remembrance
Explore how we nurture an ongoing relationship with our ancestors through offerings, remembrance, food, flowers, prayer, and other forms of reciprocity. You'll also be invited to investigate how your own people traditionally honored and remembered their dead.
LISTEN ~ Group Stick Divination
We'll gather for a group Stick Divination to listen for what wants to be known at this point in our journey. The guidance that comes through will help shape what we explore and carry forward during the remainder of our time together.
PROTECT & INTEGRATE ~ Tending What We've Found
Explore discernment, boundaries, protection, cleansing, and ways of caring for what you've opened and discovered. We'll reflect on what you want to carry forward, what you may choose to leave behind, and how this work wants to continue living in your life.
ACTIVATE ~ Ancestral Activation Ritual
We'll come together in person with ancestral offerings for a final ritual shaped by what has emerged through our journey and in our group Divination. A time to honor what you've discovered, acknowledge what you're carrying forward, and give it a place in your life beyond our time together.

Join us for a day retreat that weaves together sacred space, breath work, divination, and deep connection with the trees and the land. Through this experience, we are able to return to a sense of renewal and ease in both our heart and mind.

**The retreat will be held in rural west Sebastopol in a yurt and on the surrounding land. Unfortunately it is not wheel chair accessible.
This retreat is facilitated by Mystic Folkz — a collaboration between Colbee McManamon and Eleni Nicholas. Colbee and Eleni are Ministers Of Walking Prayer through the Center For the Sacred Studies. They bring beauty and compassion to their circles. Creating a safe and sacred container that allows for healing, magic and transformation that is both subtle and profound.

Gather with us once a week, for 5 weeks, to begin or deepen your practices as an Earth tending medicine woman.
Learn how to : create a sacred container for ritual, build an altar to the ancestors, invoke the spirits and your guides that are benevolent and helpful, Make offerings and deepen your connection with the earth and the natural world. Our time together will culminate with a trip to the ancient redwood trees for a ritual where we use what we have learned and take time to build reciprocity with our standing elders by listening to their wisdom.

Amy Tanzman Palmer and Eleni Nicholas are both initiated stick diviners in the Dagara tradition. They have decades of experience between them in the healing arts, including: herbalism, energy work, body work, speaking oracle and voice divination. Eleni and Amy are both dedicated Earth workers and medicine women in their respective lineages.
